Renewable energy systems requires both DC/DC and DC/AC converters. DC/DC converters adjust the solar input voltage to the DC-link or battery level. DC/AC converters (inverters) are required to deliver the solar energy to the public grid. The conversion from DC to AC power is achieved using Inverters. Using GaN transistors in renewable energy inverters improves power density, minimizes heat dissipation, and reduces the size of passive components.
