Electric motors are everywhere, estimated to consume more than 40% of global electricity production, twice as much as lighting, the next largest user. Using GaN Systems’ power semiconductors results in motor drive systems with lower loss, higher switching frequency, and sinusoidal output resulting in smaller size systems, increased system efficiency, and reduced costs by using unshielded cables, smaller heatsinks, smaller/cheaper filters and system integration.
